WINNERS OF ADVANCED READER COPY – Congratulations

I’m so excited to announce the winners of the Goodreads contest for an ADVANCED READER COPY of

Wedding Cake and Big Mistakes

Not sure what an Advanced Reader Copy is? It’s an uncorrected proof of the novel. It’s the format that the publisher sends out for promo and early reviews prior to a release date. This book is the third in the Adams Grove series and it will come out on July 9th. Here’s what the ARC looks like::

Together ~ we can make a difference!

Sometimes a task seems so big ~ and when it’s helping someone who is battling a disease ~ finding a way to help can feel impossible.

Take heart in knowing that together, even tiny contributions, when combined with others do make a difference. I ran across this saying on facebook this morning, and it aligned perfectly with what I wanted to share with you today.

My cousin, Jenn, is married to her childhood sweetheart, Greg, and is the mother of two pre-teen boys.  In 2009, she was diagnosed with a type of colorectal cancer and she’s been through several treatment plans since. You can read about her journey and the latest updates at http://jenniferpmcmanus.wordpress.com/my-story/. I’m mentioning her today, because she’s  just started a new treatment, and as if the treatments alone are not hard enough, she’s having to travel from Carolina down to Florida for them.

Finances are a roadblock in being able to get her boys and family members to  her during this journey and I’m hopeful we can join together to make a difference. Even $1 adds to the bounty and will help. There’s a fund already setup and you can contribute online through paypal, or if you’re like me and prefer a paper trail — Crossroads Publishing House, LLC will be routing funds to her.

CROSSROADS PUBLISHING HOUSE ~ PO BOX 723 ~ EMPORIA, VA 23847  (Make your check to Crossroads Publishing House – Friends of Jenn)

or directly through paypal to: gmjm0906@me.com  (Gregory and Jenn McManus)

…and seriously, every dollar counts.

I’m a true believer in teaming up with others to make a difference. You might recall my posts on facebook about the Cancer Relay For Life in Norfolk earlier this year, and that I was a category captain for Brenda Novak’s Online Auction to Find a Cure for Diabetes. We raised a final total of $2600 contribution for the diabetes auction and I’m working hard to come up with good ideas to raise the bar for my category next year. If you have any suggestions, please share them!

What will you do to make a difference in someone else’s life this week?

Romance is in the Air~

Hi Friends

While some of y’all are getting your kids set for spring break this week – I’m off for a week of Writer Girl Fun.

This afternoon I’m jumping on a plane and heading for Milwaukee, WI. Tomorrow I’ll be hanging with authors and readers at the Barbara Vey Readers Luncheon in Oak Creek. It’s going to be such a fun day chatting about the books we love and giving away lots of awesome prizes.

Then, a quick drive down to Chicago (last time I was there it was because I was stuck due to my flights being cancelled – this will be way more fun!) for the big Romantic Times Convention. I’ve got a booth down in Club RT so I hope anyone attending will stop by and visit. I’ve got lots of fun planned including buttons – IF I WERE IN A NOVEL I’D BE… (you fill in the blank – I’ve got markers and stickers – should be a hoot! I might need several – let’s see…I’ll be a Size 6 – the crazy aunt – the secret admirer …)

I’ve also got a prize wheel. Just for signing up for newsletter updates from Friends of Crossroads you get to spin the wheel and you could win one of the adorable READ. RELAX. REPEAT. prizes pictured below. Beach bags and lunch bags with room for your favorite novel or eReader and huggies so your water bottle (or diet Coke) doesn’t sweat on your books. Or you could get other prizes like bookmarks, treats or muah-muah something like a stick on moustache.  Fingers crossed for the adorable tote bag or cool bookmarks – although a moustache at one of these parties could be kind of fun, too. I can picture it now – glittery fairy wings and a big fat black moustache hahah.

Hope to see you there — but no worries – if you can’t make it, I’ll be posting fun updates here on my blog, facebook and twitter throughout the week and you know you can count on www.beyondherbook.com for updates from Barbara Vey, too!

Hugs and happy reading~

Nancy

Happily – Ever – After USA Today

It was a pretty exciting Christmas morning. Mike and I didn’t exchange gifts this year. Instead we bought gifts and meals for three local families and took gifts to the Jackson-Feild Home in Jarratt, VA to the girls there.

To my delight … I did have one suprise. I opened my email to find an alert. When I clicked this link–

There was mention of my novel, Sweet Tea and Secrets, right at the top of the article in the USAToday Happily-Ever-After blog.

The review was written by Maya at indiReader.com and she’d given it a 5 star review.

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect gift. Thanks for letting me share my stories.

Hugs and happy reading~

Nancy
