I’m a huge country music fan so being in the Country Music Capital was pretty exciting, but instead of country singers I had my sights set on awesome Novelists. Killer Nashville brought the goods.
Saturday morning included choices from five simultaneous tracks. I was on the panel of
Publicity and Promotion for Writers with Little or No Budget
Philip Cioffari (Panel Leader), Jennie Bentley/Jenna Bennett, Marilyn (F.M.) Meredith, Milton Toby and I shared our experience and advice to a room full of writers.
From 11-noon we did a sweet tea toast to celebrate debut novels:
- Sweet Tea and Secrets (Small Town Suspense)
- inkBLOT (Young Adult Suspense) by Johnson Naigle (Yes, that’s Phyllis and I!)
- Beach Rental (Beach Suspense) by Grace Greene
- Girl Three (DC Thriller) by Tracy March
We had plastic champagne glasses filled with sweet tea and prized every 5 minutes. A fun way to spend the afternoon break.
I also want to give a special thank you to Mary & Greg Bruss (pictured below) the owners of Mysteries More of Nashville, TN for their support. If you’re in the Nashville area, please drop in and pick up a couple of books.
Saturday night we had the best Italian dinner I’ve ever had at Amerigo’s. Within walking distance of the hotel made it very convenient and the service was second to none. Book Blogger and twitter buddy @MsLizaLou joined us for dinner. Great company, great food.
It doesn’t get much better.
unless you think seeing Robert Dugoni doing the electric slide and Donald Bain on the drums. Oh yeah, you are marking your calendar for this conference next year, aren’t you?
I already pre-registered for 2012.
While I was having fun in Nashville, back home we’d lost power at 8am on Saturday and Irene was dumping rain and chopping trees with little effort. It was a little unsettling when none of the four of us who traveled from Virginia could reach our families….don’t worry…all is fine.
The fun thing about these conferences is I always come home with tons of new ideas and new friends.
